BRP is the only company working hard on a 2 stroke engine was the TRUTH. FICHT injection is the best thing to ever happen to a two stroke. Where do you reside at smoke? I also have buddies with rebuilt 450R's and YFZ's. After all of the BS they gave me about my "fugly tank" you can't pay them to utter a cross word about a Bombardier. I wrenched on that jap crap more than I wrench on my personal car. I have an 04 ds, when it was stock, the only thing, I mean the only thing to ever go wrong with it was a jet got gummed up with a piece of cockleburr- pretty common where I ride in wisconsin. I just wonder why all the hostility. You jumped on the wrong site asking for an argument and then call people moron's! Come on, Banshee's are a dying breed but you feel free to argue that as well, I mean, "If you can't dazzle 'em with brilliance then baffle them with bull#@$%!!!!

You want to talk money? Well, after looking around for several months I bought a DS for $3200 with around 50 hours on it. It came with a set of paddles and was clean as the day it rolled out of the dealership. I have now put a CDI on it, done OMR carb mods, and an end cap. Total I’m into it is $3700.
Know what? I have beat every piped Banshee I have raced. Now I’m not talking a 65 HP banshee, but stock ones with just filters and pipes. I have been beat, and beat bad by some real hot Banshees, but only when they had a lot of work done to them.
You had to modify your suspension to get your comfy ride, how much did that cost you? We don’t have to spend a dime as our suspension is great from the factory.
Reliability? Ever heard of the Paris Dakar? Guess who is winning there….. your right, if you said the DS is.
Weight? My DS is listed at 460lbs dry. I think the Banshee is like 395lbs and the YFZ450 is like 350… with electric start no less. So if my quad is a turd compared to a Banshee, then a Banshee must be a turd compared to the YFZ.
Now, you talk like none of us have been around 2 smokes, well, I think you will find that a lot of us have been there done that. I’ve had great time on the ATC250Rs, TRX250Rs and Banshees I’ve had over the years. Now after 35 years of ATVing, I’m glad to give up 60lbs to you for electric starting, great suspension from the factory and a quad that stock for stock kills Banshees.
As far as looks, well its funny that someone with a Banshee is making fun of the DS. Go sit on your shee in front of a mirror, then you will see ugly.
