hey got smoked, i would almost bet that your a raider fan also the way you came off like that. how come if a ds gets beat by another bike its no big deal. but the first time you yfzz or another bike loses to a ds theres always an excuse and they want to fight. i think you need to go back to the yamaha section with an attitude like that, i too used to be the same snott nosed punk that was greater than everyone else no matter what it was. what your doing has a word but i cant remember what its called, when you feel miserable inside you want everyone else to be just as miserable, leave fat holly alone as with crazypainter, especialy crazy becouse he is painting our harley stuff. shoot all your bad coments towards me, i have been in the same place that you are now and i know what it feels like so i will just take it with a grain of salt becouse i know its really a mental disease you have that some welbrutin or prozack cant handal.

yah, it takes very little money to make a YFZ rip. A good pipe and intake really waken these little things up. 2Big, the reason you kept killing it is the internals are lightened up sooooo much so the motor can rev quickly, there isn't much inertia to help the motor get your azz moving
You have to get the rpms up to about 4k before it as enough torque to roll.
The YFZ will out run bikes that have better power to weight ratio's because it revs so quickly. Another advantage they have is a close ratio 5 speed. The DS motor has large gaps between gears which means we have to build motors with extremely broad torque curves before we can really pull. Broad torque curves cost money
The problem with the YFZ is how delicate the motor has to be to rev this quickly. I actually think the YFZ motor is not as tough as a banshee motor. I think they are reliable when close to stock, but when you start pushing the limits (65 hp on all motor) they aren't going to go very long without a rebuild. The DS800 can be raced for 2 years at 115 hp on NOS. The YFZ's that running 85 hp on NOS have to be rebuilt after a race weekend and often times don't make it all weekend. I am sure there are some exceptions but...........
Yamaha asks YFZ owners to replace their piston after 120 hours. In the race world, the YFZ is close to its limits. The DS is still exploring the limitations of displacement. We haven't even gotten to the point of needing billet cranks and transmissions to handle the power. As long as there is a single cylinder 4-stroke class, the DS motor has the basic building blocks to make more power than any other motor out there.
As far as you, Smkmup...............there are a few people who really know how to stay on top of their tune on a 2-stroke. Those few can make lots of power reliably. Most, like me, just like to make more power but don't know enough or care to test and tune every day to insure that conditions are right. 4-strokes allow a large group of people to have lots of power that is reliable and once they are tuned in, you just ride them and change the oil from time to time.
Reliability of 2-strokes? Bottom line.........just because they have the potential to be reliable does not in any way make it commonplace.

Smkmup - Buddy, I think the biggest problem here (actually a tragedy) is the lack of tools your parents gave you to work with. You might be smart enough to function but this level of interaction.............. Good, parents will make it worth your while to grow out of this level of behavior before you turn 13. Obviously you were slighted in this area because I am willing to bet you are much older than 13
I'm not going to rip you a new one. Once a guy is old enough to be independent, those of us in the real world have very little leverage to help you learn that this is unacceptable behavior. Your parents are helpless to help you and so are we by this time.
These tendencies that you are displaying are going to make your life very hard until you learn what would have been so easy to learn when you were a child.
What a tragedy

You language and personal attacks are (once again) not needed in this kind of debate. If you wish to debate the topic with us, we are more then happy to provide that. However, this is not the group of people to be attacking personally with the kind of language you use. When people get that emotional over a topic, it has been my experiance that they either really are that uninformed and have nothing more of useful info. Or are just handicapped with a permanent inmaturity. I feel for you, that is tuff.
BTW, if we do ever meet on the sand....Once my 300 lb ****, and 500 lb DS beat you heads up....I will go get our Banshee of the trailor and do it again...Late

And for the rest of you hipocrits complaing about personal attacks quit crying...dont act like you didnt do the same...
