I think I have read here that the dealer will replace the front springs on a 1 up non xt with the stiffer xt springs under warranty if the owner says the front springs are too soft. True? Also, when starting from a stop the CVT seems to grab and be a little jerkey. Not slipping but not a smooth, easy start. Sometimes difficult to move a few inches when loading. Dealer says that's the way the CVT works. True? The stock air filter is as good as anything else. True? My fan comes on even when riding in cool weather and that is normal. True?

Never heard of any of these issues...since the dealer is backing it up, he claims responsability (IMO). With that being said, enjoy the bike and overlook some of these things if you can...you always have the most astounding warranty in ATV history if you need it. I am having to get used to the "funny" engine noise of mine...just not used to it. But....the thing makes up for it BIG TIME in other ways.

These issues were answered by the service writer who will foreget everything if the stuff hits the fan. Just thought I would ask the people that know things for a fact here, thanks.

im almost positive most of the bikes came with a 3 yr warranty, or a 1 yr with optional 3yr, something like that

Oh. Bom and Arctic Cat must be the only ones with a 3yr warranty.

Twin Air now makes a replacement air filter for the 800, foam/oil type. I know it will filter very good but how does it flow? As far as the fan, I might add some water wetter but don't expect much change. If I had real heat problems I would look into an oil cooler somehow. I will make some phone calls tomorrow on the front springs.

I had this very same issue of the 800 being jerky at a little over idle speeds. At only 30 miles I took it back to the dealer and they said something stupid like "it'll probably work itself out in time, and ya really don't want me to tear into that thang do ya?" but having spent nearly $9K on a quad I was not going to accept that so I told them they better get to the bottom of it. Two weeks later they had it fixed. It was the clutch and they did replace it and the belt since the belt was scored. There was a spring broke in the clutch. They shipped in a new one and the spring somehow got broke in it as well, so they had to order yet a second clutch. They installed it under warranty and it is all running smooth as silk now, however I am crossing my fingers on these clutches as it appears something was either defective on a run of them or there is a brittle spring in them.

BTW I made them give me that 3 year warranty in writing.
