I had my DS fine tuned on the Looney Tuned Exhaust DynoJet dyno today. I have Been slowly working through all of OMR's mods. OMR has been helping me get the jetting squared away, and after I built the slip-on I'm using now I wanted to fine tune on a dyno.

I have posted pics of how I set up my air tubes, my slip-on and the dyno results.

Here is how I was set up for today.

Gearing = 15/40

Tires = New Maxxis 22" All Trak knobbies

Slip-on = 10 Discs.

Idle set to 1,500 RPM

I used DynoJet main and needle.

2005 Slide spring & snorkel

Air box lid on with K&N & outerwear. (I have ordered a No-Toil for when I'm dirt riding but its not here yet.)

Baseline Run = 35.05 HP @ 6,750 RPM and 30.21 TQ @ 3,100 RPM
Main = 180
Needle = 6th notch
Pilot = 50
Screw = 2.25 turns

Last run = 37.15 HP @ 6,750 RPM and 31.75 TQ @ 3,300 RPM
Main = 185
Needle = 3rd notch
Pilot = 50
Screw = 4.25 turns

I was real happy with how close OMR and I had it. But the fine tuning added a nice little gain throughout the power band.

I wish I had a stock baseline for my DS as it is running much stronger than when I got it. The tuner said the knobbies were costing me at least 5 HP on the top end over the slicks he normally uses on the dyno. I can believe it as there was burnt rubber after every run. They tried to set the slicks up for me but didn't have the right combination for a DS. I was surprised with the flat torque curve.

Looney Tuned Exhaust was great to deal with and I highly recommended them if you are anywhere near here and want to do some dyno tuning. I think we made 11 passes overall.

I really want to thank OMR for his stock carb mods post and the time he has taken working with me. My DS is 100% more fun that when I bought it.
