damn snap ring

Default damn snap ring

If you can't get it to loosen with a screwdriver and hammer which you should be able to by tapping one side where the ring is split then try spraying some wd40 on it mayb itll loosen up then.

awsome guys it worked. i tryed for a while then my buddy tryed and had it off with in seconds.. pissed me off but its all good [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] now the new bearrings are ready to go in

Just warning you that If you haven't taken it apart before make sure everything is tight or those new bearing will be nothing left and pack the bearing also because you don't want to be messing up your carrier and sporcket when the bearings break.

take the bearings outside of the carrier and take packing grease and grease up the bearings and the races then put the oil seals and everything else back together.

My bad I made it make no sense kinda before when I said repack them but what I meant was repack the bearings. Also that you want to make sure everything is tight so you don't bust your bearings and take the chance of your chain popping off and maybe also ruining the inside of the carrier or teeth on the sporcket.

Default damn snap ring

I use transmission type snap ring pliers which dont need the holes on the ring. they have tiny flat paddles on the end of the pliers and you put them inbetween the ends of the ring. pops them right off
