Travel, first off you have to be committed. Second, find a reason to be committed! I wanted to achieve two things. I wanted to be around for my kids (basically, be healthier and feel better) and two be faster on my quad. Do you know how much more HP I'd have to have to offset 50lbs? Quite alot.
Now, enough with the BS and to the meat. I dieted using a Weight Watcher type diet. I don't go to any chick meetings or council groups, I just got all the info on line and started eating better and watching points. The first two weeks are hard to break the cycle of habbits, but when the weight starts falling off, things start getting easier. I still eat McDonalds, taco bell etc. etc. You just have to know what you can eat and how much you can eat. Weekends are generally harder for me, however I keep chugging away and in just over 9 weeks, I'm at 43lbs lost. Now I'm excited to lose another 10, and who know's maybe 20. I'm sure that will take longer, but I'm much healthier for it. Blood pressure has plummited from around 158 over 92is (obviously an average) to a nice 124 over 82. Much better. I started playing ball again, and things are looking up. There some X-rated benifits to losing weight as well.... that's another conversations.
Let me know if you want a couple websites.
