Default Aluminum Radiator Shrouds

alright here are my 2 cents on the cost subject( i'm not thin skined either) it is true that the shrouds are only a small piece of aluminum with a couple bends in it. there are 6 brackets also which have to bent & punched. I am not a guy building these in the shed in the back 40 for something to get rich enough to retire on. i still have a buisnes to run. the over head cost of a buisnes, no matter how small it may be is rediculous. machinery, insurances(a lot ) material, & most important my time. it takes about an hour to make a full set of these, that is with the proper equipment, ( taking time away real production) if a person (me) charged the standard hourly rate for my shop & added in material & shipping, which buy the way has increased a lot since fuel costs have went up, i would have to charge around $ 220.00 a set not including polish or powder. unless you ship in quantities or use a shipper on a regular basis, shipping is around $30.00 . so if you consider this info and also look at the amount of shipping that a place like "CT" must do, the reality is this: take away shipping & the shrouds are only 10% higher thanm they were before. also keep in mind that KMS buys them from a manufaturer, then has them polished & then has to ship them .... so why shouldn't KMS be able to make it worth their trouble to have them available for YOU? again this is my 2 cents and if your skin is THIN SORRY BUT THATS THE WAY IT IS. if you can build your own, maybe instead of whinning about being ripped off, you can start a shroud buisnes and get so rich you can retire in about 6 months and then laugh your A$$ off at the rest of us.

kaylasdaddy, since your reply was directed to me...... points taken. BUT !!! let me just say that first of all if you read my original post i was hardly whining just rather voicing my opinion that the price seemed quite high. secondly i have shrouds already. actually i am laghing my A$$ off at people whu pay double for a product no more superior than what i paid for my ct set sux that they quit producing them

acctually my comment was not directed at anyone specificly.... for the record I tried to get a set from CT as well & when i found out they werte no made any longer i was left with no choice but to build my own... Kelly was good enough to let me borrow a set to use as a pattern & thats how it started... i only wanted a set for me.. if nobody wanted any i would not make them.... for the record i WAS NOT making a dig at you! this subject about $$ has come up before on other items for the DS, just not that many available.

I never got into the $$ issue, however, I did send a PM about the six sets you said that you had. Never heard back. I do have one of my 03's with an overheating issue and would like to see if the shrouds resolve it.

If anyone has a set collecting rust or dust let me know. Thanks
