What are DS Days? Eureka???? No hotel there..... My wife grew up there and I won't stay there either. Stay in either Nephi or Delta, or get a tent and stay at the dunes. The Oasis campground and the white sands campground have shade and latrines.

 

They have flush toilets and running water also. They also have it at the hill. Just no shade at the hill but what we make with our big circle.

Good job on the weight loss Big D. Congrats.

O and if you are serious Flyin. DS Days is a group of great guys (and Gals ) which whom alot own DS 650's I personally can't wait to go.
Oh and it is during Labor Day week-weekend. Hope that helps.

 

I know I will be there over Labor Day weekend.. No, I dont ride a DS, but I do know a few of you that will be there and I am looking forward to meeting the rest of you..

If you plan to motel it... make plans for Delta, or Nephi, both are about the same distance from the Mountain.. about 45 minutes...

There is running water at Sand Mountain area, One flush bathroom and a few outhouse style... No electrical at LS... There is a dump station over by Oasis Campground.

If you are going to camp, bring your own shade...

I will be camped on the left side in the back away from the Mountain.. I will be in a small wanderer wagon toy hauler with a Marine Corps Flag flying above it. There will be a wanderer 5th wheel with a Dallas Cowboys Flag flying, that will be "Air".... I like to see some of the big hill shooters for a short while, but we mostly like to go out back and dune....So stop on by and say hi.. and if you want, we will take you out on a great dune ride or two...
I will have the helmet cam going for those rides...

One suggestion from someone who has been to a couple dozen events: If you camp away from the group, you may as well go on a different weekend or just not worry about the group even existing - yeah, you might see a guy or two ride by, perhaps someone will even stop by for a few minutes. However by and large, when people get social and drink a little, people just walk, (which is how it should be) and they don't often walk farther than the next camp - so if you are more than 100 yards away, then there really is no group event. Camp where you want, but if you want to be a part of the group, you had better camp close or be good at entertaining yourself.

 

How big of a circle do you think we can all make? I can walk or ride a long ways to visit. Hey at least I am staying at the hill I was gonna stay at Oasis. So I keep getting a little closer as the time wears nearer. Just incase that is for me. LOL.

 

I've seen people 'double up' just outside of the 'ring' or even make a second ring of rigs and it works pretty well, but if you end up being very far away from the group, it just sucks. I've always been with the group but some of the people I wanted to ride with were camped elsewhere, so they were never around & heard they didn't talk to many people and when all of the fun BSing went down, they had no idea.

 

Thanks for worryin about me but I will gaurantee I will be right in the middle of alot of the conversation. I seem to be good at that. Can't wait to meet ya. I will get in the big ring I would rather be on the inside. More protection.

 

the wife and our rat and I will be there thursday morning . hope that you guys that get there first grab enough ground to make one BIG giant circle so no one gets left out in the cold. side by side races sound like a hoot, count me in on that! Im surprised to hear that there is running water at the hill. is it radio active or anything? LOL

 

Well I will be with Viper and he will get there early in the week hopefully to save some space with a few others in our group. I will be pulling in thursday AM with a few other buddies. It is looking like we will have to have a lot of space and even a double circle this year.

I would suggest that if you are coming to stay with the group as blackhawk said. Most of the action always happens on the spur of the moment and usually starts in the main circle.

I will be driving a jacked up blue chevy towing a 29 ft sierra toy box. So look for us.
