DS Days Roll Call
I know that there is a MPH up the hill post, but I wanted to start a Roll Call post as well as an information post for those who have never been there before (ME!).
I will be going with OUT the family now. Seems as though we have too many trips in too tight of a grouping. I'll be bringing a buddy with a LTZ450. Will have one of our toy boxes, just don't know which one. Will be bringing the HPR 730-bigDaddy monster and one of our Rangers.
Where will everyone be? Does anyone have GPS coordinates for the trip and the camping spot? How about water, electric, grocery stores, how far away from town etc. etc.??????
Jed, since this is your home court where should we be planning to set up camp?

Is this a big place? Is there lots of area to camp or are we out of luck if we don't get there early Friday?
So I guess a good bit of direction is needed getting there from Vegas and once we are there. Looks like no family so we're good to go with family areas or the wild bunch. If you are staying at the hill, is it loud all night long or is there a bit of repreave?
Just really have NO idea what is what up there. VERY MUCH LOOKING FORWARD TO IT THOUGH>

I will be there with my family. My brother will be there with his family. Chuck and his wife(my mother inlaw) will be there as well. A couple other friends of mine with Ds's will be there with me as well.
The area at the base of the mountain is large. I will try and get a banner, or signs up early for everyone to find us.
It is loud sometimes. And often times until late in the night. I have camped there with no sounds aswell though.
It is close to the mountain, as you will be able to watch people racing while sitting in camp. You might not be able to tell who they are, but watch the racing nonetheless.
There is water spickets placed around the parking area, that you can hook up to to fill your camper. No electricity. As mentioned 30 or so miles from Nephi, or Delta, the nearest towns. I would do a mapquest of either Delta, or Eureka. I would probably take I-15 north all the way to Nephi, then take 132 west(there will be signs for Delta), then you have to look for the turn off towards the dunes. You will go over two passes, as you are coming down off the second one, the turn off is right around a blind corner, and takes off to the right. There is signs. Follow that till you hit the stop sign, around 15 miles, go straight through and follow the signs for Sand Mountain.
The turn off to the dunes, is on state road 6. Between Lynndyl, and Eureka. For those of you in northern Cal, take state rd 50 all the way through.
I am going to put the smack down on some side by sides, you guys wont want to miss that!

I wish I could help you more with the noise level. I have never been there during a busy weekend but I am sure that it will be very loud at the hill. They have other camping area's which is were we usually stay. This will be my first trip I have stayed at the hill. There is a huge area to camp weather at the hill or at the different camping area's. They are all good. I personally have never gone there from Vegas area so I am not sure the quickest way to get there maybe talk to Annihilator he is from that area I am sure he can help with that. It is a very nice place and we can't wait to get there and meet all of you.
I am sure someone else will chime in to help ya out. I am trying but not the expert. But I do really enjoy the area alot.
I hope it helps a little.

Dragon, no reservations. If you arrive that early, I dont think there will be many people there. You will have the dunes mostly to yourself!!
I would go to the mountain, and find a good large area that will fit many of us, and we will start the circle there. It is quieter farther back you go from the mountain, but anywhere is good for me. If you get an idea when you will be coming, I will try and meet you there, and bring my trailer to help make the circle or something.

I have no plans as of yet aside from the fact I'd like to be there.
In Delta or Nephi what are the hotels like if I or someone else needs to go that route?
Who from the so cali area is heading out there and when? I may want to try and find a carpool, or not depending on how things go. (And when everyone is leaving.)
I think I'd like to arrive sometime thursday, and leave to go home on Sunday so that I miss all of the hellish traffic that will surely be Monday.
