Default engine problems

Well i was riding some trails here in WI last weekend. I had rode about 20 miles wen i noticed oil was covering the outside of my engine. It was coming from my breather hose. I stopped at a gas station to get more oil to put in the quad. <there was plenty of oil on the dip stick for workin order>I then attempted to ride my quad back to my vehicle. Well about 5 miles down the trail my quad ended up spittin and sputtering and knocking. So there i was a sittin duck on the trail. There was plenty of oil in the quad wen it died. I am wondering what happened.

o boy' player I hope you didn't do what I did........I trashed my rod bearing.........from low or no oil flow..........man let me tell you.....that SH#% is expensive.........make sure oils is in the oil tank, next pull you oil screen....... the one on the bottom of the oil tank, if you have copper or silver metal saving.........(blood of jesus be with you cause it's all over with)......if not then make sure you have good oil flow coming out of that screen.......and start the bike to see if it knocks........Good luck brother.........peace
