Default Maybe Outty 800 isn't overpriced...

I got into a big arguement on this forum the other day and I said the Outty was overpriced compared to the King Quad 700. I've been thinking about this and I checked the prices, and I realize I was wrong now. Here's why.
The 2007 King Quad's MSRP $7499......Severely detuned 695cc single DOHC, must add $400 for VDI copperhead to get it to run like it was susposed to. Must buy a $30 Uni or $60 Twin Air filter or you'll need a rebuild. Stock tires are simply terrible so add $250 for tires. This equals out to $8179.
The 2007 non XT Outty 800 M.S.R.P. $8,749.00....800cc High HP V-twin, All you need is a $100 skid plate..nothing else just ride off into the sunset with your undetuned motor and never look back. Plus the King doesn't touch the Outty 800 in power even with an aftermarket ECU. So after this $8749 - $8179 = $600.
$600 is obiviously a fair price in what the extra 105cc/ extra 20hp motor costs in reality. So after doing the math I can now realize it is an unfair statement to say it's overpriced and I'm sorry I jumped all over the Outty like I did in the thread "Outty 800 new KQ", it wasn't very kind to my fellow ATVers.

You know how Pastor rolls, Toyeboy...

But anywho the price of these quadz are gonna go up since there are more features, bigger motors and some manufactors try to make them lighter. Some quadz out there mite cost a lot more (BRP) but that is some ppl's preference to have them...

$1300 is a big difference for some people and a deciding factor on their purchase. The KQ is probably the best bang for the buck if you keep your ATV pretty much stock, I almost got one myself. All that being said, for a few hundred more I'd probably opt for the Outlander 650 over the KQ.

pretty cool you saying sorry. were all in it to have fun. i say, be safe, have fun, and be thankful for what you have. wheather it be a suzuki ozark or a outty 800, you bought it to ride, so ride it.

on another note, i think these cc wars are getting pretty crazy. especially in the utility market. how often are you going to be going 60+ miles per hour? sure its fun now and again, but how practical is it? i say if you want to go really fast, buy a sport quad. if you want to get into the thick stuff, and technical riding, buy a utility. once the tires start spinning in the dirt or mud, and you stop moving, all those extra ccs are worthless anyways. i own a 2007 can-am outty 400 max xt, and love it. its a great machine, but can i afford another can-am? heck no! if i end up buying another ride, it will be cheaper. their bikes are great, but you pay out the rear for them. im personally considering a kingquad or a new grizzly 700, and i know ill be happy with either one, thats what makes it so hard to decide. i can get a kq for 6400, or a grizzly 700 for 7200. both will need new tires at least. oh well now im rambling on.

You got it right. But one other thing you forgot to add is the 3 year warrenty. How much does Suzuki charge for one. The KQ is a solid quad and for many it will be more then enough. The only reason I got rid of mine is the bottom end lag (drove me nuts) and nothing was out to get more power.

The Can-am are not any more money then any other out there. The Can-Am 650 is the same price, or a tad cheaper because of there warrenty as the KQ700 or Grizz 700. Yes it's a 650, but is still the same class as the 700. I see many compare there XT's or Max xt's to others standard models. You can only campare a standard to a standard.

I paid 7300 for mine stock, added my mods, bumper, tires and wheels, cargobox, gunscabbard, gps, shock covers, and winch, and its about the same price now as the outty 800 Is the extra power in the 800 worth what i put into mine? Not a chance in my opinion. Im sure i will get smoked by an outty800, and they are sweet machines, but ive had way more fun spending the extra money on all the fun stuff. And i also have a three year warranty
