i took my bike out sunday and was not happy at all how it ran the bike still pops like crazy and when it gets wet it stalls and turns off ive been trying to get the carb set up for weeks i have triple checked the carb 2 times and i cant find anything wrong with it.

could it be a electrical problem beacuse it was only stalling&shutting down when i passed thru the water.

also would i be better off buying a new carb for my bike beacuse i cant get this thing set up it just runs like crap

 

Probable be cheaper to buy part's to rebuild the major component's of the carb. (IE< diaphram, top rubber thingy, jet needle,emulsion tube. etc..... or buy a good used one on EBAY [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

Have you changed your cdi?
When mine went it was poping and sputtering and would not
rev out.

 

Let the bike run and spray it with arden hose until you find the culprit.
Usually spark plug boot or something like that. Shouldn't be too hard to find. Good luck with it.

Just getting a new carb probably wont help.You would have to get that one jetted for you quad also.
Do you know anyone with a DS?If so, you could try thier cdi and see if it helps.

 

i dont know anybody that has a ds in my area

 

so how do i check if i have a bad recifier or cdi another problem i have is the bulb also burnt out i dont know if that makes a diffrence

 

Hi: Is it just getting wet or are u going thur knee deep water when this happens.
If you said yes to knee deep then its the 2 breather tubes running down from the carb.
Just relocate them higher up on the frame and your problem will be solved. If not break out the garden hose and baby shampoo along with your best girlfriend, or even the wife.

It is most likely the spark plug boot.
