1)what is a good price for the plain outlander 800 and the xt model?
2)what model should i go with?(the xt with everything installed or just put the stuff that i want on the plain model?) i want to put 29 outlaws on and i have a warn 2500 winch at home?
3) i like the protection of the bumpers on the xt,is there better bumpers out there or should i get the xt ones and put them on?
4)going with a clutch kit for the big tires and will i have to change the kit when i run the stock tires in the winter?(what kit is everyone runing)
5)how is the camo plastic holding up?
6)how are the laws on rocky hard packed trails(i ride all types of terain not just mud)

for an 07 your most likely to be paying list price but if you can find someone who will get you out the door for list your doing great myself i dont like the xt package because of the weight with the plain jane 800 you can wheelie like crazy and it doesnt have quite as bad nose dive so id opt out for the plain and modify it the way you want especially if you want tires and have the winch so all youll need it the mounting bracket for it as for clutch kits idk we've never tried one on an 800 the plastic has been great for us the only spots of any damage is right where the back fenders bend to go down on the edge there its scraped trees a few times and scratched down and as for the outlaws i have to experience with them

My dealer tells me to be carefull what tires i put on my 800 xt. He says you can't just go puttin' any ole tire on. He went on to say that he has this one customer that put on ITP Mud Lite XTR's, and he rides real hard, and he has had to put several front drive axles in. I don't really know from experience how true that might be. The Carlisle A.C.T 's work pretty good so far for me.

I have the XT and it will wheelie, just not as easy. Hard to put all or part of the XT package on for the price difference at the dealer new. Also the 26" ACT's are very good tires, got 1800 rocky miles on mine, still looking good and hauling the mail. If you have to get the best wheelies, don't get any of the XT stuff and don't put the big tires on. If you can live with XT pkg and pipe/dobeck for wheelies, then all your questions are answered, just sell your winch and get an 800 XT. Camo plastic not too good. Standard plastic very good, excellent.

Price, just shop around as they change with the seasons. Call Dalton on the clutch kit. On the tires, maybe you want to wait and get the Ltd edition, best looking atv on the planet.

Can you elaborate on what is going on with the camo finish? Is it scratching off or flaking off or fading or what? I've been considering a camo model but just have never been too sold on the durability of that wet transfer process they use for applying that stuff to the plastics. I've seen a couple of instances of that stuff coming off other products it's been applied to.

I may just go with a green one. Something subdued. Camo skin tape might be a better option if the stuff tends to come off.

-Seriously though, price is gonna vary lots. I've found better prices in smaller (hometown)dealers than at big city dealers as mentioned on this sight.
-The XT is an all inclusive package. Only thing i'm adding now are skid plates for sure. Little things like storage and lights will come as the bank vault(wife), permits. The bumbers are good for BRUSH, not bashing. found that out the hard way on an earlier model.
-Don't know much about the clutch kit, but have read on here somewhere that it's pretty much required for anything bigger than the stock 26" tires. I do get into a lot of water and have heard the complaints of housing leaks and belt slippage. I may be a candidate for a clutch kit. Let us know how it works out for you if it's what you do.
-The camo color looks really good IMO. I went with the green though due to price, availability and didn't really think it was going to help my deer hunting.

and yes you CAN wheelie very easy with the XT. Low range makes it even easier.

Top speed, so far, 73.

hope some of this helps. good luck and be safe.

Larger tires MAY affect your Visco-loc a bit, something about it taking an extra second or two for the tires to lock up do to the size. I guess BRP is looking into this.
