can-am800 vs sportsman800

Can you point to the forum rules that require me to own a BRP 800 and a Polaris 800 before I can post on a thread? Just because you are incapable of analyzing 4WD systems doesn't mean everyone has the same problem.
>>>>>>>>>>>
Then you do have extensive seat time on both machines though, even without ownership? You are speaking from personal experience or just what you've learned from reading forums/magazines etc?
You see thats what gets me about some guys, they want to come here and say this works such and such a way or this is better then that when they have no practical experience with either system to draw a logical and unbiased conclusion.
I personally DONT CARE which system is supposed to be the best, I ride to have fun and have never been stuck and I don't ride through much mud........so BFD, if it makes you happy to think Polaris has a better 4WD system then Can Am then knock yourself out.

Last dictionary I looked at showed bags and trailers have different definitions. Did you catch that??? Again, what the heck does this have to do with our 800 discussion? I guess you did not catch that. Yes, in all number systems, 650 is not the same as 800.. Did you catch that??

Ummmm......Yeah, OK. So, please share with us your personal experience on either or both of these machines. I'm still curious what your side by side review is since you're such a technical expert I couldnt' imagine you'd draw the conclusions you have without actually riding both quads over the same terrain. Hello?

The POINT is that an Outlander 650 which is 50 less CC's then the Polaris 700 took a trailer with a quad in it to make an even race and I'm sure the difference would be the same between the Polaris 800 and Outlander 800.
Hey, if you want to use the formula to compare pulling 600lbs vs hauling 150 then knock yourself out but be sure to factor in the smaller engine in the Outlander when doing so as well. GVW/HP/CC's=BFD, I think the point is pretty clear now.

Let's face it gtx, you are way better at pie-in-the-sky bs than you are at quad riding. No real quad guy would ride those little maytag washer engine quads that you haul around in your dinky trailer.
And then you show your dinky quad with dinky chains on the rear wheels and say ' I just cleared 10 inches of snow'. If that snow had even a 1/4" of water in it, you would have had to go get your shovel. You should use that shovel now for the bs that is piling up around your computer.
As has been said toward you many times on this thread, quad experience talks and your long winded left field bs walks.
It's obvious man, you are not a quad rider.

this is funny, to think i kind of started all this by calling some guy moron. but he was just going from what the mags told him about the polar ice 4wd system. And that's my biggest rant is the mags know less about this stuff than we do. just think how long did it take before they made coments on the fact that a polar ice and suzuki had tru 4wd. like what 15 years, get your head out of the sand.
To be complety honest I don't even like the sp 800(my father rides one). to heavy, doesn't power slide, sinks in the muskeg, four stroke engines make noises that scare the crap out me, heavy steering. As for older polaris quads, i ride a 95 xplorer with lots of mod work and it is way more fun to ride, only weighs 575 lbs.
other quads i've ridden with and rode include
99 griz 600- great quad, good power, but needs diff lock bad.
91 350 trail boss-15 years old but still comparable to almost everything on the market(except for reliablity)
2000 scrambler 4x4- makes good power with psi pipe, 38mm carb, quadzilla 500 piston and race porting. almost scary
95 xplorer trail mod- tons of fun beating quads 4 times the price
2005 sp800-great ride, decent power. but too heavy and big
2005 rincon 650- best honda 3x4 evermade, but still won't run with my 95 xplorer
older 300 honda 4x4- won't breakdown but gee are they ever pathetic
2001 griz 660- man is that ignition retard for diff lock ever stupid
foreman 400s and 450s- yep they named right. for the foreman that doesn't actually work. can go out on weekends and still just watch everbody. Cause he would be too afraid to get stuck
1986 trx 250- amazing reliability, would beat honda foremans with the right rider aboard
ac 650 v-twin- don't buy one

The AC650 Vtwin, dont buy one comment is going to have me joining back in also. Why do you say "dont buy one"? Now your making a biased comment. The 650V2 is a very well like machine to some people, including me. You should write "650 Vtwin, I didnt like it". Im very happy with mine, and it to has, stock to stock, outran an SP 700. As a matter of fact, the friend who owns the sp 700 is having so much trouble with his, he to is looking at getting an AC, either an 06 650V2, or a 650H1. So he would be one to say "Sportsman 700, dont buy one"

Ok, since you WON'T answer my question I'll assume you have ZERO experience on either of these machines. Anyone can regurgitate what they've read somewhere but there are people here who have owned both machines and have ridden both who have a bit of a different take then YOU do. Personally when in 4WD I can hardly tell a difference which is what I THINK BRP was going for with this design, if so then they hit the nail on the head.
