Depending on the type of surface they were racing on, that 300 pounds on the back of the BRP could be what won the race. Who the heck would believe that doubling the weight of a quad would make it faster than a similarly equipped quad? You been had by good marketing. Go back to filling sand bags.

Yes, in all number systems, 650 is not the same as 800.. Did you catch that??

The POINT is that an Outlander 650 which is 50 less CC's then the Polaris 700 took a trailer with a quad in it to make an even race and I'm sure the difference would be the same between the Polaris 800 and Outlander 800.
Hey, if you want to use the formula to compare pulling 600lbs vs hauling 150 then knock yourself out but be sure to factor in the smaller engine in the Outlander when doing so as well. GVW/HP/CC's=BFD, I think the point is pretty clear now.

Are you really that naive to think that a 650 quad weighing a total of 1200 (quad+trailer) will actually beat a 700 anything that weighs 500 pounds less??
they were trading wins back and forth between eachother back and forth, whoever got off the line first won.

You will get the point that they know, thats not why they argue. The best thing to do is to refer them to their website for the specs & then go to can-am website for the specs, cant argue with that!!

GTX What you are saying in theory is true but the big problem comes when Polaris tries to make it work with any kind of reliability and if you were to ride a Polaris as much and as hard as I did you would agree with me.I just got tired of working on them and also getting beat buy the VEE-TWIN at that time it was the kawi so I left . The other thing I really did not like about the Polaris was coming down hill and a lot of people have been hurt on them because with their rear wheel only engine braking but unless you live in the west wear their are long step hill you would not under stand that.

and the v twin with the kawi motors( that's bound to start an argument). they have had a very bad rep with trannys axles. and just plain lemon quads. I think it got cursed for not having a suzuki motor. now the new ac with the new king quad motor probably great. but i'd say don't buy that vtwin ac.

The 2006 AC650V2 is different, as they changed the gearing, and it fixed ALL problems. Its ashame they stopped making them, as i love it, and have rode it hard for over 1,000 miles on the same belt, with absolutley ZERO problems. I would NOT trade it for anything, as it has got me in and out of anything anyone else has gone into, and its sometimes gone where others have not made it

i know i said that it was my last post but here it goes
well v2 rider that is great they fixed the ac vtwin, I didn't realise that.
now the polaris 4wd system is very simply it DOES NOT THINK FOR YOU. PUSH THE BUTTON AND IT STAYS IN BOTH FRONT TIRES HAVE POWER , UNTIL YOU DISENGAGE IT (and yes sometimes, very rarely you have to back up in 2wd to get a hub disengaged, i'll always admit true faults) been that way since 1987 long before, the rest got their head out of the sand, and built a true 4wd system. In those days a polaris would make every fourwheeler on the market look silly. By 1995 they had more suspension travel than the competion for 8 years running. If it wasn't for polaris you'd all be riding a underpowered undersuspended 3x4 fourwheeler. You should be thanking them.
well yes this is the can-am forum but i don't care this is fun right. tell next time ride fast and ride hard
