i received a call from bombardier customer service yesterday.the only thing they did was call the dealer i took it to and asked them what happened.customer service said i rode it hard and they would not warranty it because that is what the dealer told them.what kind of customer service is that.i wasted my time with customer service.i told them i was very unhappy and it cost them more than an axle because word gets around.i think i read about a guy with a raptor that had a couple of bent axles and yamaha replaced them under warranty.if i had to do it over i would wait and hope for a big bore sport machine from honda.i've always had good luck with hondas.

Due not give up some time you have to go past customer no service and go to the top of the company. Copy the post on the Yamaha forum and show the CEO of Bombardier how great Yamaha treats the Raptor owner. Then ask him if Yamaha is better than Bombardier is they might change their mind. You have to work the system some time to win. Remember Bombardier is new to the ATV business and we have to teach them what we the customer wants.

Yes I did get the Raptor. Still haver my DS, waiting for guy to pick it up. They did not spend all that money on the Raptor to fix the stability, they spent it to UPGRADE it. The Raptor is fine witht he stance it has for most people. And I have one questions, How did they weld your plastics?
Later peepz

thanks for the advise CALDS650 i may not get the axle covered under warranty but like i told bombardier customer service it will cost them more than the price of the axle when word spreads. i will continue to voice my "dissatisfaction" with bombardier until they at least work with me on this and show me they do care about there customers.

Sorry about your axle ezwheeler, but if you can bend a axle on a DS,I know for sure you will bend one on a Honda.I think my axle on my DS is twice as strong as the one on my EX,or 250R.Good luck.........

Chris,

You're only one of a few people that have owned both the DS and Raptor... Give us some comparisons.

Also, I was one of only a couple of people on this board to have bent an A-arm. When I did, Yamaha replaced the following: Upper A-arm, plastic retaining bracket for brake line, clutch lever, handgrip. The last 2 items were just slightly damaged due to the quad turning onto its side.

When I ran the clutch without freeplay in the cable, they covered it under warranty and instead of waiting to get one in from Yamaha, put a Barnett in.

When my carburetors backfired due to the lean setting, my dealer called Yamaha and they re-adjusted the mixture to spec and replaced both rubber boots (even though they didn't appear damaged) just to ensure there wouldn't be a problem later on. I might add that it hasn't had a hiccup since then.

I haven't been out 1 cent other than driving 10 miles to the dealer. I'll have to say that Yamaha is doing a great job of warranting their product, so I'm not worried about a few early productions problems that they are working out.
