Default Help taking carb off

Here is what the service manual recomends: 1. using thumb, release tension on throttle lever. I found it was easier to use the thumb lever on my handle bar to turn the assembly in the carb, now the trick is to hold it in this position and release the handle bar lever. 2. Next the manual says to use needle nose pliars to rotate the cable end bushing. This is the round part that you see on the lever plate, it only sticks out a small amount but you can just grab it with your pliers and turn it while pulling out gently. Remember to keep that lever plate held forward to relieve the spring tension on the cable and yes it does hurt your thumb. Once you get that bushing with cable end attached over the lever plate and out the rest will become clear. 3. Now just release the jam nut on throttle cable and screw cable off. If you have never dissasembled a CV carb, I would recomend doing so over a clean white rag. Especially when you reach down into the center of the bladder with your needle nose pliars to extract the needle. There are a couple of small washers on it that can fall off. Hope this helps.

Not hard at all. Remove the three screws, cover, and O-ring. Rotate the mechanism forward to provide slack in the cable. The end of the cable should slide right out at this point. Goes back together just the opposite.

Yep what aceisback said its really simple and before you take it all apart I would recommend turning the gas off at the fuel petcock and run the gas down from the bowl and cover up the hoses and intake if you are keeping the carb off for a little while.
