Default Dreaded dead battery syndrome!?

Ok, 04 DS650 BajaX, brand spanking new, 10 days old with about 4 hours on it. I have searched and tried all the suggestions and this is what I found:

All fuses and wiring are good, no bear wires, nothing pinched.
Checked the temp switches resitance, and my meter didnt do anything, tried it on all settings.
Checked and sanded all grounds, everything checks out on voltmeter.
Brand new battery - 12.72v
* battery voltage does not increase when DS is running, or at any RPM, slowly decreases.
Tested stator (yellow wires) and got this:
At idle
* 1 yellow - 13.8v
* 2 yellow - 13.5v
* 3 yellow - 13v
At ~ 2500rpm
* 1 yellow - 21v
* 2 yellow - 21v
* 3 yellow - 22.5v

Researching back through the forum these are to be around 45v and increase/decrease with RPM, correct? If that is so, it looks like the stator is not making the juice and needs to be replaced? The bike is under warrenty, so not worried about replacing it, just want to make sure I am in the know before I take it to the dealer tomorrow.

Thanks for your help.

Chris

oh, the rectifier/regulator has been changed out, and the battery reading through the stator plug is the same as the reading directly form the battery.

Even tho the quad is new, I'm betting the battery is no good. Do a search here in the bomb forum and you'll get links to the oddesy (spelling?) battery. It's a kick *** replacement.

This is new battery #2, with same results. I am not in the US, and all the batteries they have here are the Yuasa brand that I have found, but will check on the Odessy one, thanks.

I ordered the shop manual, but it has not arrived yet. If any one can that has one can confirm the stator output detail, I would most appreciate it. Or, if any one that can check there's and let me know what readings you are getting, I would most appreciate it.

I seen that, but I am not in the US, and they only ship to the cont. US. But, I will look for the Odyssey battery here. I have never seen that brand at any of the shops here though.

Thanks. I honestly do not think it is the battery. I have put 2 brand new, fully charged batteries on it and neither stayed charged, or showed any signs on the voltmeter of charging.

Taking it the dealer tomorrow. No one has the shop manual to check the stator output details?

Is there a way to check the starter?

I would say it is your stator not starter. If your not getting power to your rectifier it is your stator.
