07 DS650 Skid Plate Suggestions
Hello to all,
I am looking to get a skid plate for my DS to replace the small plastic factory one. I have seen a ton of them on the net, however most list the earlier years (known to have shorter swing arms.) I am looking for a 1/4" version to protect me from roots, small stumps, rocks, etc.
Any suggestions? Any models/ manufacturers to avoid?
Thanks in advance.

Guess i should of read it better...you are talking about the swingarm skidplate....with lots of them you give up ground clearance for added protection....and some of them will act like big scoops just ramming the dirt and crud up into your chain/disk area acting like a big scoop. I like the looks of the armadillo one on rockymountain atv.

I understand a swing arm skid plate will decrease clearence, however i feel added protection is worth the trade off. I also intend on replacing my factory dirt tires with 22"s to match the gearing.
Yes, my bike comes with front A arm and full frame skid plates, however it lacks a swing arm skid plate.
Any more suggestions are appreciated.

I have tried the Armadillo.. CHEAP CHEAP, this thing lasted 4 months & was trash. changed to + 6 swing arm & the guys who built it used a banshee mount so i built my own out of 1/8`` steel. not the lightest in town , but its been a year & not beat up at all. just a thought, a good fab shop could build one in a couple hours & make it nice & tight and actuaslly go far enough forward so it is not a "scoop".
