The list is pretty accurate. I want to make sure the guy gets good info and is not disappointed after the build. The truth sets everyone free.............why not go ahead and list the items you think for $2500 that will get him enough hp to get it done.

I don't think you can do it in our neck of the woods for $2500 without NOS. I am pretty sure Mike's build cost $4k, mine cost $4k and I was using the inexpensive off the shelf parts.

I put out the numbers and the components to support my opinion (which i have a right to btw).......why don't you do the same......to support your position?

If I had to accomplish this for $2500, here is the combination:

NOS Installed and Tuned - $1000
+4 swingarm - $450
Longer Brake Line - $30
TM45 - $350
Pipe - $250
Paddles - $300
Ported Intake - $90
K&N - $40

Total: $2510

That sounds a lot like AZSAND's recommendation

109 cams 135
Ron Woods Pipe 175
4" swing arms 300
Pistons 11 t0 1 stock bore 125.00
Gasket kits COMETIC 45
Paddle and rims 22" x 11"x 10" (08 paddle) 225
1235 bucks and I seen them go for less and a bit more the deals are out there just keep looking on forums and E bay, I have only been burnt once, I bought a cam bridge for my extra head that was getting ported and it was worn out of spec, fixable but for 50 bucks I wasnt too upset, but there are some shady folks on E bay, thats why I like buying parts from the forum members.

These prices look about right for used. This would be a good way to save money and get even more performance. Put the NOS kit on and you are still under $2500.

I only buy new stuff but this sounds reasonable to me.

Bless your heart Ron! you keep the DS economics rolling! My cheap azz has too many quads to fix up, us poor folks need a break on parts now and then. now where is my Loto Ticket

Yea Ive found some good deals myself and given some. I think most of your prices are pretty close nut give or take a few. Im shocked you didnt use HPR cams and piston in your parts list but I still say for 2500 you can build a fast bike. I guess it all depends on how fast the Banshees are. Ive done a lot of builds and used Wood racing, HPR, The Bomb and Pami. There are deals out there

I gladly pay the extra for HPR custom parts because I know the value is there. I just assumed my opinion would be more palatable on this forum if I stuck to production parts.
