It just depends, they are both great quads. If your just trail riding through the woods with no jumping, I would say the Outy. But if your trail riding consists of alot of jumping, I would go with the DS.

I clocked my 800 Outy Max LT this last fall in 50 Degree F conditions on flat ground at about 900 ft of elevation. I registered 71.6 mph using my gps. I weight about 200 lbs and I probably had about 35 to 40 lbs of gear in my front and rear storage racks. I also had my windshield in place, so I wasn't rigged for speed. My quad only has about 350 miles on it, so I don't think that it is fully broken in.
My guess is that if I took the extra weight off and the windshield, she would top out at somewhere between 75 or 76 mph.

I only read about 20 posts in this thread and i already think that half of you are well groomed. It's a dumb question but if you must know.... our 800 XT stock did 78 on the speedo so that means whoever said that the speedo wont read over 75 is well groomed. This was on gravel in about a 1/4 mile run. It had about 120 miles on it at the time so idk if you would call that broke in or not. Another point is... your well groomed to say that a modded yfz would beat a stock utility quad. I sure as hell hope so. They were designed for that. Thats all I got to say for now. Sorry if I upset some of u... but this is pretty stupid.
