how fast is a outlander 800???

Ive raced my ds against a stock outlander.Well i really only have a k&N at the time.I beat him badly to about end of 4th and he was 1 lenght behind me.To top end 3 lengths ahead of me.It was close. In my opinion you cant compare apples and oranges AGAIN.To different machines. This is kinda a stupid thread at this point.Argueing or "discussing" what will beat what but its against same maker.Who cares really. At least your argueing over can-am's.

I have beat DS's lots of times both stock and not so stock, This pics is at about 250 ft into a sand drag. Its beeting not only a ds but also a couple yfz 450s as well. There is 1 YFZ and a drag quad out in front of it but not by as much as you would think it would be.

Like I mentioned in the the last sentence, 1 is a YFZ and the other is some kind of drag quad. I don't remember what brand the drag quad was its been a wile. YFZ's with the right mods can be very fast.

I'd like to know the age of the people who post messages about speed and how there quad does 90mph or 80 or even 70mph. Younger people, those in there late teens and early twenties dont really comprehend how fast quads really go and that's about the only thing that's important to them is a number. I think my new renegade does 128mph, really it does. NOT. If speed is really the only thing important to someone who brags about how fast there quad goes, then they need to rethink why four wheeling is fun, and it's not about how fast it goes down a blacktop road. Buy a car then. Anything that is meant to be ridden over rocks, and down rutted out trails, does not need to go any faster than 30 or 40+mph, I could see and open field, but even then, 60mph isn't fast enough? For those of you who are living in reality about how fast quads go whether it's an 800Outlander, 650DS, 450YFZ whatever the case, I think you see where I'm coming from. I don't think I've ever seen a YFZ, go down a rutted out rocky trail, obstructed with downed trees and two feet deep creeks go 80, 60 or even 40mph, where they belong. Do you know what's bound to hapen if you go down a blacktop road on an ATV doing 90mph or 80mph? I do and I don't suggest anyone recommend anyone doing it to see how fast their atv can go.

It's nice to see someone on here is on the same planet. I rememeber when I was 13, I had an 83 Yamaha 200 Tri Moto, and of course I loved it and thought it went really, really fast. Of course my perception of "really fast" then was a mere 43mph I think. Loved those days, think it only cost about 1300. dollars too!! And that was brand new LOL
