I think I put up a pic that showed a Outlander beating a D650, and 2 YFZ 450s back on page one or 2 of this thread. I beat them all the time at the sand drags. These 4x4s are entered in to races all over the country year around. So to answer your ??? No you are not right.

A banshee will only do low 70's stock. If you think it does more than your wrong. Dirt Wheels tested all the two-strokes back in '88 on a dragstrip. The Honda, Suzuki and Kawasaki 250s were about 70-72 mph, banshee about 73 and the Suzuki 500 74-75. This was done in '88 but I am pretty sure Yamaha did nothing to that motor to make it faster over the years. A stock Outlander 800 on the other hand will do around 80. Unless you gained about 10mph from a filter and a boost bottle, the Outlander will catch your top end and beat it.

Even though a stock banshee isn't fast by today's standards, there is a real beast in it waiting to be unleashed.
I will say that not just anyone should ride a stock banshee. They do take some getting use to.
