Default exhuasts worth the cash?

is it worth the cash putting a different muffler/pipe on the outlanders? I have the 400XT and was wondering.. if so, whats the best bang for the buck?

I would say to go with either the muzzy or hmf exhuast if I were going to go with any, correct jetting and an airfilter...should see better gains in the torque area but make sure to get a full exhuast.

Do your home work before you purchase the full system alot of systems have a bigger OD in the header but the ID is the same as stock therefore you get no benifit from the full header it is the same as stock se if you can get any dyno #s on a pipe if you can.

I think the only exhaust for a 400 Outtie are the Big Gun and Wyleco.

I have a Big Gun and K&N filter on a 400. Noticed a difference, but mostly just quicker revving, and a lot louder. I do it again, but would do the clutch kit if true performance is what your after.

The biggest improvement I've noticed has been the Dalton clutch kit. It's tuneable for stock or larger tires and super easy to install. Also, with the Dalton kit you won't lose any top end speed like with other clutch kits. With the Dalton kit throwing a roost and spinning the tires is no problem. In addition, the kit will increase your belt life.

thanks for the info everyone... is the clutch kit something you can do in you own garage with simple tools? How much does that run price wise?

Lowest price I could find was from www.atvoutfitters.com $244.00

Super easy install with instructions that come with the kit.

Check out www.atvfrontier.com for other opinions. I think there's even detailed instructions over there. Just search "Dalton" in the Can-Am/Brp forum. You'll also see comparisons of the Dalton kit and others like the Epi kit.

12many, you wouldnt happen to have any pics of your exhaust setup would ya? Did you just get the muffler or is it the whole pipe back from the engine?

Big Gun slip on. Uses the stock header. I don't have any pics, but it's the same setup that tonester over at atvfrontier has. He's got pics posted under "Big Gun exhaust".
