Default tach not working...

Hey guys...i am working on putting my ds back together....still! I just haven't had much time to do it.

any clues as to why the fact. tach. isn't working on my DS? It just doesn't do anything. I have cleaned up all the wiring and made sure everything was connected good. The only problem I have seen is the grey nut that connect the wires to the back of the tach. will not tighten. But the wires inside still appear to be attached. I dunno....

Any replies to either question are greatly appriciated!

Default tach not working...

there are two cylinders just above the rad. that it hooks into in some strange way. The tach, the key, lights and all the electric up front are all wired through each other in one way or the other. some just have other wires that go back into the main harness. The problem with that therory is that when one of those fuses blows i loose just about everything. Right now the only things that don't work are the tach. and I forgot to mention the kill button (don't have a tether yet.). It doesn't do anything either. Everything else up front works...lights, dash lights, key, start button, everything! If someone knows about a hidden fuse please do tell!

Thanks again!

If you have a multimeter handy I would test to see if the tach hasn't burned out because that is know to happen or I would take the old end and splice new male and female connectors so you have a clean surface to mess with.

If you need a tach check the "what's in your garage" thread or you should be able to pick one up on ebay or at a local auto parts store.
