Default HPR 730 vs. Quadzilla?

Man, I almost forgot about starting this thread! Anyway, I ended up picking up a nice '89 250R that I'm doing a frame up on, ultimately it will have a 350 powervalve ported jug with all the bolt on's, should lay down 70 or so at the wheels. I hear ya about not going too wild for a guest bike but the only guests that will be riding her are better riders than I am so I'm not too worried but I appreciate the advice and I definitely agree with ya if the rider was inexperienced.

"Guest Bike" hehehe - I thought it was "Wife's Bike". . . lol

If you seriously want this for a guest bike, this isn't the bike. A Honda 400EX or a Z400 would be my personal choices. Those Zilla's like to blow up. . . buds Dad had one. . . who's gonna pay for that. You put yourself and your guest in a difficult position with that bike. A guest bike with too much power isn't a good idea either.

I disagree on the they like to blow up statement... People that dont know how to jet them blow 2 strokes up often. I had mine for 3 years almost never fouled plugs, started by 3rd kick, and held compression. I agree it may not be the best guest bike like most 2 strokes, if your not experienced riding them, you can have some trouble. especially starting them. Kind of like in back to the future nobody but biff can start his car.... I had a bunch of friends all experienced riders but almost none of them could start it. I could start mine 1st kick in tennis shoes if the weather wasnt cold...

I did sell it but i got a replacement in a year...
