Problem
#1
I was out riding tonight and after an hour or so it started to spit and spudder. So I stopped and checked it out every thing looked and seemed fine. So, I take off again in every gear it spit and spudder when it gets up to so many rpm's. After I let it sit for a while and take off again it doesn?t start until I hit 4th gear. Did something get in the carb? Any Ideas???

have you tried to start the quad again? That is pretty much what mine started doing. then when I went back out an hour later, it was dead!!! The battery that is. Could be the carb, but could be electrical as well.

Check your jets and make sure you can see light through them and also check for a fully charged battery, but one thing with the ds's that has been a known problem is the ventling coming from the gas tank...It is about a mile long and gets kinked sometimes and causes the quad to sputter(it is under the tank plastics)...Also make sure you have enough gas and the choke isn't on...Also do you currently have any mods?

Make sure ur air boot isnt collapsing, if ur hittin so many rpms and then it is sputtering ur engine could be sucking ur air tube up and that'll cut ur air supply, they made the DS's in '03 to come with a stronger tube for this problem, Mine was doin it when i got the TM45 carb and after like 4500 rpms it would dog on me, was the air tube and a slight jettin issue
