what about the scrambler is there much difference between the being that they are both 500's</end quote></div>A short stroke V-twin will always outperform a single cylinder. CC's being equal, engine configuration will be the equalizer. The Renegade will outperform the Scrambler.

Top end speed a twin is the way to go. Low end rock clawling torgue on motors up to 650cc a single large paint can is the way to go. But once the displacement is large enough on a twin (700 and up) it will have good power in every situation. In my opinion 500cc is a bit small to be a twin on a utiliy ATV. You run into high speed siuations 10% of the time but most riding is slower trail stuff which removes a small twins advantages.

I own a 500 renegade, and there is no comparison when it comes to the scrambler! I traded my 05 scrambler to the renegade. It outperforms the scrambler in every situation, I mean all of them! The wolverine doesn't match the scrambler in very many ways, so I wouldn't even put it in the same class. I haven't run it out all the way to see what the top speed is yet, but in the low end and mid-range, the renegade outperforms the scrambler convincingly. I took it through a mud hole this weekend that most got stuck in except a rincon with 30'' tires! If you are going for top speed though, spend the extra cash and get that 800 gade. It is pretty da@n fast.

My wife has a 07 plain Outlander 500. It will run close to 70. I am wondering if the Renegade 500 has any thing different in the motor or exhaust.
Does any one know how a Outlander 650 or 800 will fair out against a DS650.
I have a Outlander 650, and it will hit 75 quickly.

I think the gade has more torque on the bottom than the scrambler 500. I don't need all the rpms that the scrambler required to do a low speed crawl up something that is rocky and technical.
