the Hubs are something I kind of scratched my head over ,kind of looks like it would put extra stress on the axel

The whole atv is pretty inpressive but all the aluminium bothers me besuse steel is alway tougher regardless in any aplication.

Oh so not true. Do a little research and don't be old school.

Yea I tried to toss that one around in my head as well, and the only thing I could come up with was that there must have been a good reason for the large hubs as opposed to just extending the axle. I'm pretty sure those engineer types have a better grasp on it than I do.LOL It seems like they did their homework, I guess we will see. It's inovative for a factory machine, that's for sure.

Thats sounds about right im wasnt bashing im really wanting this bike to be a big hit im just wondering about all the problems it could have. Is a aluminium sprocket goingto be weaker that stock or is that common on sport quads ?

Here's the thing about the extended reach hubs, and perhaps why people are wondering if there is added stress from them. The answer is....yes!!! However it's not like adding wheel spacers to somthing engineered to work without them. The axle/hub combo is engineered to work together, therefore any added leverage stress should have been factored into the design.

Also, Indycar axles are hollow as well, and they hold up.

Now the real trick would be to build the axles hollow out of Airmat like Indycar axles and then you'd have somthing very hard to break or bend and can twist 180° and return to their original shape. Incredible stuff and very expensive though.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
I have not been hearing such great things
I do know they will be out in full force at the GNCC races. Can't wait to see that.
GT Thunder has, or will have with release, a MX and XC package using stock shocks.
I know anyone who will be competing will have upgrades anyway. This stock DS will have it's shortcomings like all other machines. You'll have to customize it to your liking.
Heck, I bent just about everything on my DS 650 more than once or twice. Same with my YFZ. Landed funny off a double and...wobblw-wobble-wobble- Bent axle. It could happen to my LSR axle. I think this one will be strong.
As far as looks, if they make some sort of bag for the front, I might love it. But the whole way the radiator sits, it looks like trouble if you're not out front. Maybe there is some sort of cover that could be fashioned?
My dealer never did go to any test for it and still says he will take me.

ya the ds450 is pretty nice- really nice actually, but im not sure if a lt-r450 would beat it with just a cherry bomb, and no lid and no baffle- probably yes

but its a bit lighter, so that makes it a bit easier to control in the air, jsut a bit

in a few years i want to see something really revolutionary like........

full titanium frame and everything made of titanium excluding engine (would that be possible, would it be good? titanium is much lighter, and much stronger than steel, and has good heat resistance, they used it on supersonic planes [blackbird?]

or carbon fibre or something like that material frame

or an ultra light CVT engine that requires no shifting, but it has another manual clutch like on manual quads- that would let you do everything a shifter quad can do (except shift)

aprilia vtwin EFI550, carbon fibre sub-frame, titanium mainframe, 49"inch wide, 42" high, carbon fibre rims, carbon fibre handlebars- water bed seat, but it uses ultra-light water (or helium)---- and most amazing of all, it runs off hydrogen, that shaves 20lbs at least because you dont need alcohol or gas anymore
