Default exhaust heat on outty 650 and 800

Just a quick note, I have seen several posts about exhaust heet melting seets, So I asked the mech. at my BRP dealer and he told me that there is a heat shield kit that BRP is putting on them and they are covering it under the BEST warrenty program Im not sure what the part numbers are but I just thought I would throw out what I knew. My dealer is suposed to order it for mine and the CVT belt cover Kit also to keep them from leaking. he said it was for all V twins.

Default exhaust heat on outty 650 and 800

We put on 80km on our new 650 and 800 this weekend and I didn't feel any more heat than my 400...maybe they changed something for 2008?? And I know for sure they fixed the CVT problem and the front springs are different than the '07s.

Would that warranty coverage still include the $50 deductible or is it something like a recall????

I think it is a warranty thing, but I don't know if they are charging a deductible

I am not sure about the warranties on all the BRP, but my 06 outty 800 came with a 6 month no deductible warranty and a bonus 36 month warranty that requires a $50 deductible each time I need to bring it in.

brp does make what they call a heat fighter kit, i had it installed on my max.
the part number is 703500698.
it definitly made a big difference, my side panals used to sag from the heat.
