Zero Preload Shocks for the DS 650
Yes I spoke with TCS about it too, and they set several DS's up with this earlier on, but nobody liked it and they no longer recommend it at all for the DS.
The heavy front end of the DS, with the weight bias being the way it is much heavier in the front than in the rear, makes the need for full front end suspension travel availability more important for the DS than most other sport quads. Adding twice the sag with zero preload means 1/2 of the suspension travel is not there in the event of front wheel impact on humps bumps and whoops, and while most other quads aren't bothered by this, the DS is, and the negative tradeoff apparently outweighs the other advatnages.

Erbeds650 I have Elka with pre load and I have my bike frame 8" of the ground because you can adjust them more than the stk shocks with +4 shinger stock shock in the rear. So I have only about 4" up and the rest down in movement I think its the best of both

That 4"s is on the big spring set for a 250lb rider and im 215lbs I adjust them up if I eat a big steak and dont go shat, only takes a min. to adjust. If your front tire are in the air you dont have a problem just twist it.

Well trying to get ahold of Todd at TCS is like pulling teeth, he's busy as hell, but his inside staff say the DS/ZP se up for dunning works great, Im still awaiting to chat with Todd, but im now thinking of going over to PEP also.
The DS just sits to high for my liking for duning, Im also looking into plus 2" arms forward 1" to make a better floatation footprint.
has any one else done this??

I was looking at my DS today thinking about setting more sag, and was looking at the upper chain roller.
Seems like it will be getting pretty close if you really drop the ride hight. Have they said anything about that?
I'm not a big jumper and like the idea of zero preload. Especially with all the travel our DSs have.
Keep us posted.

I run MOTOWOZ, and they lowered the DS a good bit. You can see the amount the MOTOWOZ dropped the DS in pics 8 and 11 in my gallery.
I race desert and ride the dunes with the family and the these are the best shocks I have rode on (Fox,Ohlins,Elka's).
They now come in piggy backs for the DS. I will have mine changed over when I come home for summer vacation next year.
Jim @ MOTOWOZ is always improving the technology in the shocks. Every time I talk with him they have something new to add to the shocks.

**The 1.5 inch drop listed is a typo. Closer to 3.5-4 inches**
