Joining the Bombers!
#1
Hi, Looks like I the new guy on the bomb forum! I just picked up a used 2004 DS650 Baja X- my first bomb! The big size was appealing as Im 6'5" and 300lbs!
Ive installed a Big Guns exhaust, new axle bearings, Maxxis Razor II rear tires, Maxxis IRazor fronts (a combo that works well on my buddies Raptor and Z400). I'm waiting for the parts to do OMR's carb mods- BTW, Joe at Old Man Racing will do the whole shebang for you for $180! I wish I had known that before I ordered the parts myself!!! Joe's been a great help, both in his posts as well as taking the time to answer some other ?'s I had- THANKS! Im debating the Big Guns CDI box to finish things out, I might hold off for a bit as my play money funs is getting a bit thin! Anyway, I should have everything set up next week, cant wait to ride it!

You definitely picked the right bike for your size. Welcome to the happiest place on earth.
Did you get the 22' rear and 23' front Razors? Gear down a tooth up front while you're doing the rest of your mods. You'll be pleased.

23 inch tires just balance out the quad since you have 22's on the rear......it helps it handle better and roll over objects better.
