Default How to remove flywheel bolt?

How do you remove the big 30mm bolt without the whole assembly spinning?

it's been a coupla years since I pulled a flywheel but if I recall correctly, you should be able to lock the crank in place with a tapered M8 bolt inserted on th lower left side of the case into a groove on the crank, you may need a flashlight to see the groove as you turn the crank over and then insert a bolt to lock it down and break the 30mm nut loose on the fly wheel side.
good luck

Or you can buy a Flywheel puller.

If Majorecho's suggestion doesn't work. You might try an impact wrench. They have worked for me.

You should be able to hold the flywheel by hand and hit it with an impact thats how i do it . that also works on the cluth basket and out put shaft.Any dowl alignments are for timing or alingments reasons.not for holding

Azsand is correct they put some tough lock tight on them bolts. get a good 1/2 inch drive impact and the bolt will come right off it is the only way. then you will need a fly wheel puller and the impact agian to pull the fly wheel any other way will result in damage to something do not heat the fly wheel cause the magnets may come loose

When removing I heated mine without any problems and it came off much easier that way. You only need to apply heat to the flywheel hub where it tapers around the shaft. I dont think the outer magnet even got warm.
