Gonna change all fluids in the morning, any secrets to making any of it easier...oil, water, brake,fuel filter(s)? It is a 2001 DS650


Don't want to start an oil thread. just curious if anyone is using Rotella T syn-or dino in their motors?

 

Use only bike oil, I use Honda HP4 it works great. You will make a mess the first time you change oil in the tank, it drools all over the frame. Maybe look into building a hose to get the mess down to a minimum.

 

There is an oil screen at the bottom of the tank where the line comes out. Most people don't know about it until they blow a motor due to oil starvation. If you've never inspected it I would recommend pulling it out and cleaning. Make sure you have a roll of paper towels handy [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

I have used Rotella t synthetic for several years in many atv's and motor cycles. No wet clutch problems. Is as good as bike specific oil?, don't know, but I have had no problems, and I got the idea off of Honda bike web sites.

 

We use" Royal Purple " works good for us. All you need to do is change the filtera couple times a year, and add 1/2 qt of oil.
