getin ready to do an oil change

im doing an oil change and heard that Klotz Mx4 Off-Road Techniplate synthetic is good, but i thought you werent supposed to use synthetic in the ds650 or it would hurt the clutch.
thanks

I have been using Klotz since I installed my 730 kit and like it. I believe the Klotz oil has the right modifiers in it for wet clutches.
A little better protection can't hurt right !!!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the majority of Motorcycle specific synthetics (and dino oil, too) eliminate the friction modifiers altogether to preserve wet clutch performance. I run Amsoil Motorcycle synthetic and it specifically states that it is friction modifier free for use with wet clutches.

Synthetics are OK
Synthetics that contain friction modifiers are NOT OK.
Most if not all motorcycle specific synthetics have friction modifiers removed and usually state they are safe for wet clutches.
I run Honda HP4-No Moly but have heard that Klotz is also very good. Isn't that stuff pretty pricey ~12/qt?

Honda HP4 is a rip off. Its a synthetic blend with 80% dinosaur 20% synthetic oil max in it, but with a full synthetic or higher price tag.
Not that a belt drive ATV needs it but there are many Full synthetics oils like Amsoil and mobile1 that are designed for wet clutches.
Sythetic blends rip off info.
Might as well stay with cheap conventional oil than buy a semi synthetic blend.

I've been running amsoil since I did my first oil change. the guy at my local shop said its just as good if not better then the bombardier oil the book recommends, and he gave me a hell of a discount for trying it. never had any problems and I'm bout to do another oil change. next time I'll go for the klotz at rmatv if I can get it cheaper.
