Default found a disconnectable green wire on cdi

I just noticed there is a green wire on my cdi that has a rubber cover slid over it to keep liquids out of something. I slid that cover off, and noticed that the green wire can be disconnected.

What could that green wire do? Could it get rid of the rev limiter? or is it actually something that has to be in place in order for the engine to run properly?

Either way, could it be safe to do a couple test runs on a flat piece of land to see if the quad goes faster or could that do some serious engine damage?

Lastly, should I maybe ask a dealer instead?

Edit: I'm asking all these questions because it seems that Can-Am is in the habit of having built in power goodies that are hidden when the quad is completely untouched. Example: the ds450 EFI race map, the ds90x gray wire on cdi.

EDIT: Even your opinions are valued. Has anyone else done something like this on their ds650s, ds450s, or youth ds's, or even any other sport quad?

I just want other people's opinions. Would it be foolish to just test out what the green wire does by doing a couple drag races with and without the wire attached?

Need a pic? I could upload.

so not even 35 people have ANY idea about this? or even an opinion? Man.... must be people of few words. Oh well, better than endless amounts of useless "smalltalk"
