Broken V-Belt on outty 800
Does anyone know where I can get a new belt other than at the dealer. Mine broke last week and when I was getting ready to remove the CVT cover, I noticed that the Gasket had not been properly replaced after some warranty work done about six months ago. I asked the dealer if this could have caused water and mud to get into the CVT housing which could shorten the life of the belt by dry rotting or continous slipping, but he said it wouldn't have affected it and blew it off. They never said anything about their mistake, so I would rather not have them make a penny off selling or installing a new belt.
I don't even want to think about what else was damaged by water and mud in the housing.
Also, does anyone know how I can speak to a Can Am representative about this problem??

Same thing happened to my dad's 800. Dealer was to lazy to take of the plastic floorboard/fender cover to ensure a proper installation of the cvt gasket. Babbitt's had some cvt belts on there sight. You might want to check out. Also nyroc's has pictures of how to install the belt yourself. When you do put it back together I suggest permatex silicone adhesive around the cvt cover. If your cvt gasket is broken I'd pitch a ......and make them replace the gasket, they did for us.Hope this helps
