DS650 oil change question

Based on everything I have read, the oil light will stay on if oil pressure is compromised.

I have a 2000 Ds650. If I turn the key on both lights come on. The red and green. That doesn’t mean the oil pressure is ok? I apologize for my ignorance and really need to know this.
