Well fellas I had an 02 ds with jp piston headlight conversion sprockets etc I sold it a coupke years a go and bought a harley now I am thinking about buying a new ds baja maybe an o3 or 04 dont really care for the coplor on the 05s what is the differance between the 03 and 04 other than swingarm length and switching from steel to aluminum? any advice is greatly appreciated thanks fellas

 

04 and up got the following and are all the same machine with the exception of graphics.

- lighter/shorter aluminum swingarm
- aluminum motor mounts
- lighter aluminum wheel and sprocket hubs
- slightly narrower rear axle
- early 04's also got the aluminum upper A-arms. THey did away with them on later models. Not sure why...

I think thats about it

 

I would stay away from 03's unless they have an aftermarket piston.

 

I'm ready to part with my DS 650. Probably taken out maybe 6 times a year and has around 100 miles or so on it. Time to get a Utility quad for these stubborn Utah trails.
