Anybody have some good balljoints for a 03 DS650 that they want to sell. I believe the upper and lower balljoints are the same part. Let me know if ya can help me out. Email me at scott.hyde@mchsi.com
The part number for both the upper and lower balljoints is 703500082

The costs for those balljoints new you can pretty much buy yourself a set of a-arms. Armadillo sets a set for the DS and thier ball joints are much cheaper (20-30 dollar range). I spoke to Brian Craft and they give you a lifetime warranty on them. He was telling me of some guy who wrecked his bike and ... they stood by thier product and sent him a new set (upon receiving the broke one). Can't go wrong there.

I agree with Entomber. I was in the same boat a few years ago and needed ball joints. It was cheaper to buy a set of arms (Armadillo) from Rocky Mountain then to buy the ball joints I needed. As well the after market arms you can adjust the camber angle which will make the bike handle a bunch better.

yep, I would do the same, you could go Armadillo(great company to work with, they made me an awesome custom set of stainless +1" tie rods) which has full camber adjustment or with American Star which has full camber and caster adjustment. These two companies are the cheapest and make their parts all chromoly. If you look at my photo page you can see that my updated pics of my DS show my newer chrome +1" a-arms made by Timmy boy racing(now epic racing). They are similar to the American Star ones and they work awesome. Good luck!

I would not go with Armadillo arms. I bought them for the same reason you might, ball joints wore out and the arms were just a little more than new ball joints.
BUT- the Armadillo arms were not made correctly. At full suspension droop on the front end, the tie rods hit the upper a-arms and you can't turn easily. Not only is that a clearance problem, it's a safety problem. It scared the hell out of me the first time I tried to turn under power.
Also, the ball joints on the Armadillo arms are made out of pot metal. I am by no means a hard rider, but I have bent all four of them. They thread into the ends of the a-arms, unlike the stockers. The upper ball joints were visibly bent, so badly I couldn't turn them to remove them from the arms. The lowers are still on the machine, bent, but not nearly as bad as the uppers. I have not sent them back for warranty or whatever, as I do not want these ball joints back on my bike.
I was so frustrated with them that I removed the uppers and replaced them with the American Star units. Once the bottom ball joints bend some more, I'll get some factory lower a-arms to replace them. If I were to do it over, I would get the full set of American Star arms. Much better quality, better engineered, and they were super nice to deal with. I liked them so much, I just bought a steering stem and tie rods from them.
Hope that helps!

Hey before you go and put on some stock lower A-arms you might just want to look into some stronger replacement ball joints for your armadillos. They are out there. In fact you can buy some nice heim style joints from American Star Racing that should hold up just fine.
