Default Carb mounted Filter

Your good without a lid for sure, just more air flow for you.

Default Carb mounted Filter

Okay, now what is this emulsion tube and what does it do, and waht is the importance of vaccum in the air box. I am currently running with out a lid do I need to go and find a lid, or is running with out okay?</end quote></div>

The vacuum in the airbox is for your vacuum actuated slide. it is plumbed into your snorkel. Where the other carbs like a TM45 and Lectrons do not have the diaphragm to run the slide.

Default Carb mounted Filter

With my DS when I had the stock carb with the OMR mods it ran best with the snorkel and no airbox.

With the TM45 I like it best with a direct mount filter, others like the snorkel better.

I do 95% trail riding, and just avoid fast water crossings.
