I put a picture up on my page of the intake side of a head done by HPR. the color you see in the tract is the epoxy they used to straighten out the path. If I had a comparison photo you would see a huge difference.
Hope this helps.

ONE MUST BE CAREFULL PORTING IS MUCH MORE DIFFUCULT THEN A PICTURE PAINT. THERES SHAPING AROUND THE VALVE STEMS AND MUCH MORE THAT NEEDS DONE WHICH YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO SEE THREW A PICTURE.WE USE A FLOW BENCH TO PORT WITH IT IS SO MUCH MORE ACURATE.

PS: IT IS SO EASY TO POP A DS HEAD ONE MUST BE COMMITTED WHEN PORTING ONE.

since were on the subject..... i was thinking of just smoothing out the intake, not really changing the flow just making it smooth and taking out the defects, and possibly goin to a mm bigger valves. if i did this without a proffesional port job would it make a difference? i know if your gonna port it you have to get it done right but its so damn expensive

Porting is the removal of material to improve max flow .Polshing i the cleamup of imperfections to maxiumize atomazation. I would say yes it would help but very min and hopefully it won't hurt ????? i can tell you porting your intake and then port matching you head is a very good thing and i would stay right there until i was going to make the plung.
