This is what I learned from one of AZSAND's posts a while back:
1) Where the negative battery cable connects to the subframe.
2) Where the subframe connects to the frame.
3) Were the motor connects to the frame (i.e. the motor mounts-especially the front triangle ones).
Go get em, and good luck.

running was a dim 13v and fading.. when i hit lights on it dropped below 13 after running with lights on dropped below 12.5....some one call me...845 709 6218

Alright chris your getting somewhere now you have established she is not charging.next is it the reg, ground or fuse.first check the fuse under the seat.there are two on the center of the frame where the subframe meets the main under the webbing.next check the ground.fasten a set of jumper cables to the neg post on the battery and ground it too the engine good.if it starts charging when you turn it on then you have a ground problem fix all your ground points.if both of these fail well go after the regulator. and maybe stator.or the plug assy for the regulator.

No, you are not jumping anything except the ground.
He wants you to ground the negative battery post directly to the engine to take everything else (aka, potential ground issues) out of the circuit.
First, use a battery charger and charge the battery before going further. Then apply the above instructions.
