Brand oil & weights for DS-650?
ds 650 manual lists 10 w 40 , sj, or sh, mineral based oil, any motor oil that uses these letters is made for wet clutches, also make sure the circle does not say ' energy conservitive' just to be safe. i have run valvoline or castro 10w 40w sj or sh, for over 7 years in mine and it looks new inside, i catch it on sale for 11 to 12 $ per gallon .

hay mckay didn't you get new cam's. both set of web cams ,[ regrinds] i bot a set in 01 and last week. web recommends not using synthetics or semi synthetic
i read befor that it causes the lobes to wear prematurely . the manual also says mineral based oil only, i'm sure some might be aright, but why take the chance.
i'm, with erbe i change the oil every couple rides. the clutch is the weak link on a modifyed ds so contamination is more important than long oil life. i think alot of people will put off changing the oil if it is expensive. [stating that is why i use the good stuf] . i'm not trying to start a oil war , but newer motors are designed for synthetic's old design's were not , i have also heard that some seals dont like some synthetics, and so on.
