electrical woes

I have two seperate issues. First one is everytime i hit the front brake i blow the main fuse. I dont see any obvious barespots on the wire but i havnt dug really deep yet. Could this be the brake light maybe? Also my fan quit. I have power at the connector but my ground doesnt test. One wire has the power, the other wire i tested by clamping my test light on positive side of the battery and touching the wire, no light. I am not an expert with this stuff but i know the basics. Any help would be great thanks.

i was foolin around with it tonight, my fuse blowing was because i got moisture in the tail light. i figured my fan out, i'm gettin power there now but the fan doesnt always come on when theres power there. Sometimes i have to give the fins a little push then it takes off. is this normal? is there anyway to take these fans apart and lube them up or something

I think your fan is done - a commen problem in the olders Ds's. I have went threw about 5 myself over the years. Last one I bought aftermarket and it has lasted a couple of years now.
I think the really reason is I changed how it mounts. I installed a couple of flat pieces of metal accross the rad supports and bolted the fan to those pieces. I think the old way the fan can be distorted and can cause the fan motor to fail early.
The last I bought a fan it came from jaycorp technologies part #30100402. Only thing you will have to do is cut the old connector off and re-soder it onto the new wires on the new fan. I paid about 60 bucks a few years ago.
Hope this helps
