ds 650 problem.

i have a 02 DS 650 and it wont start. its cold here, normally anywhere from 10 to 30 degrees. i pulled off the carb. and its clean and it has a a different main jet in it from dyno jet. its a 175. it gets good spark. and the battery is brand new but i drained it quite a bit when i tried starting it yesterday so i put a battery charger on it. so now i am stumped. any ideas?? thanks a lot.

3 things to start. Spark, Gas, Air flow. Just my 2 cents. If your getting a good spark, I would check to see if it's getting gas. if it is I would check to see if your air tube/filter is clear/clean. If all three are present then it may be something like timing, or make sure you have it in the run position on the handlebars.

Adjust your air screw while you are at it - it makes a big difference in the cold, especially when the engine is cold too. Somewhere between 2 and 3 turns from gently seated will be just right - start adjusting at 2 1/4 turns and tune from there - giving a little test ride in between to clear things out.
