Default 2002 Baja Tach Problem

So my 02's tach quit working, don't know why, when you turn it on it sets at 0 but when you start it it doesn't move. when you rev it it kind of jiggles a lil bit (could just be from vibration) but that's all. Any idea on where to start? Thanks.

Do you own a service manual for the quad? If not....get one. Thats always the best first step .

i think you have 3 or 4 wires coming from the tach one is positive ,one ground,. one tach signal wire goes to the coil on the left side as your sitting down, you might have a fourt wire that is the light
make sure your gound is clean and secure then check the wire from the coil is not broken the positive is fine cause the tach moves the bad news is the tach probly faulty you could send the tach to autometer and they could check it for you
