if you want it all to be dull & even use some 500 wet/dry sand paper and evenly scuff the whole thing. my buddy did this to his raptor plastics & it doesn't look bad.

I was thinking about that. It would just suck if I did it and thought it looked horrible. ha. but even if I found a way to clean up the plastic, it's just going to get scratched and dingy again. Hmmm...

Yea I love the look of the black plastic. Just wish there was a way to buff the plastic like you can paint.

A heat gun in the right hands will do wonders, get it just hot enough where it starts to melt & that section will revive quite nicely. Practice on an old piece you don't care to trash like an old dirtbike fender.

i've heard great things about using a heat gun to remove white stress marks. but how well would it work on scratches?

Sand down the scratched portion to get the surface even, the heat gun is mostly to get the shine back after the dulling from the sanding.

what grit of sandpaper do you recommend?dry or wet?

A product call Texas Gloss works wonders. It won't remove scratches or anything, but it brings back that showroom shine. (At least until the next muddy ride)
