Default BRP problems!?!?!?!

I purchased my Outlander Max XT 650 in 2007 and now in 2010 I'm having MAJOR problems with it! There is only 450 miles on it mostly just plowing snow and light trail riding. The rear suspension is a little on the week side. Bent the suspension and the wheeler was never really jumped. The major problems came in play about 6 months ago. I took it in cause it seemed to have a small oil leak (turned out to be a small seal) but when the serviceman was looking at it he found my clutches are destroying themselves! Still works but it's a matter of time before they go to hell. BRP won't stand behind it! Now it started over heating in 5mins from starting it. Took it in and the dealership said they have been having this problem a lot. Turns out BRP didn't tighten the head bolts tight enough and is causing the coolant to "superheat" this in turn causes the coolant pipes in the radiator to expand and crush the fins in the radiator. No airflow means more overheating problems! BRP won't stand behind it. All in all it is looking around $3500 in repairs that BRP won't stand behind after labor. The wheeler is awesome when it works but BRP is what I'm not impressed with! They are going to lose a lot of customer base if they don't start standing behind their products! They now lost me and I have been riding ski-doo snowmobiles for over 20 years! Anybody else having probs like this??

You can take all the "shootouts" and put them in one bucket and you won't have beans.

Don't think it is Can Am working you over. More the Dealership. The radiator problem is well known and everyone I know of had it warrantied. The clutches? Something fishy there. Unless you have put it too deep in mud or water and got stuff in the case, this shouldn't be happening. More to the story there. Good luck.

I called can am yesterday and they said I'm too far out of my warranty period and they won't cover the radiator. This sucks! Oh well. As for the clutches, never been in deep mud/water with it and the dealership can't figure it out either. Thanks for the info though.

i had bought a 2007 500 outlander for my wife last summer. The atv only had 250 miles on it. We got it back and went to ride and it overheated as well. To make the story short, same thing, the radiator was swollen shut. No air flow. No problem since it was under warranty. Now i have an issue with it not wanting to start sometime. I have to give it gas(its EFI) to get it going and when i let of it dies or idles like its on one cylinder at 600rpm. If i shut it off, sometimes it will start up just fine and idle. weird. Maybe try another dealer about your clutches.
