Default Starter problem

hi Friends. been a while since I made a post. I have a 2007 DS650 baja. The battery had gone flat from sitting a couple of months so I charged it and it seems good. when I turn it over, I hear the click in the back from the solonoid, and the starter turns fast, sound kind of like a chain turning, but it is not cranking the motor. from my car experience, it sounds like the bendix gear is not engaging to turn the engine, but I dont know much about these engines. Is this common ?? do i remove the starter to fix, and Is it difficult ?? any advice is greatly appreciated

Default Flywheel bearing?

Did you ever find out what your issue was? I have an 03 DS650 and it sounds like I have the same exact problem you're having. I wish we could post audio I recorded me trying to start it. Sometimes is starts quicker than others but it does it everytime. I'm also undecided if its the started or something else.
